[UPDATED] Following the story posted by Insider Gaming, industry insider “NatetheHate” has offered some additional information on the apparent upcoming reveal of DOOM: The Dark Ages.
It looks like PlayStation fans can rest easy if Nate is correct, because according to him, the game is a multiplatform release from Microsoft, and will be launching on PlayStation 5.

Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has leaked the next game in the iconic franchise as DOOM: The Dark Ages
The one and only Tom Henderson, villain of PR companies everywhere, has a new scoop. DOOM: The Dark Ages is the next title in the iconic franchise. It is set to be revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in June. A new DOOM title has been repeatedly hinted at by various insiders lately including Mr. Henderson and Tom Warren of the Verge.
In Mr. Henderson’s report the game is described as ‘medieval inspired doom world’. The game has previously leaked with its codename of ‘Year Zero’. In DOOM Eternal the Doomslayer is shown as having a history in a medieval looking setting, though with crazy space future tech. It is unclear if this is an off-shoot of the main franchise or perhaps a prequel harkening back to an earlier time in the Doomslayer’s demon-killing career. The game is set to be shown at Xbox’s showcase on June 9th according to Insider Gaming as well, after four years of development.
The last DOOM release has The Ancient Gods Part 2 expansion for DOOM Eternal, back in March of 2022. We gave it a 9.5 stating:

I’m pretty happy with what is rumored to be shown off at the Showcase. Honestly I’m just happy with this, Gears 6 and Black Ops 6 so if anything else interests me like a State of Decay 3, Perfect Dark of Fable showing that would just be icing on the cake.
Also this sounds like an amazing setting for a DOOM game.
