Capcom’s Platinum titles site lets you see how many copies their games have sold, and the Resident Evil 4 Remake has just broken the 7 million copy plateau.
Resident Evil 4’s 2023 remake was widely heralded as one of the best remakes ever made. Taking a beloved, though dated, title and rebuilding it from the floor up into something modern and excellent. That hard work has been rewarded as the title has now sold over 7 million copies globally according to Capcom’s Platinum Hits website. The current list is:
- 1: Monster Hunter: World at 20.10 million
- 2: Monster Hunter Rise at 14.70 million
- 3: Resident Evil 2 Remake at 13.90 million
- 4: RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard at 13.30 million
- 5: Monster Hunter World: Iceborne at 12.60 million
- 6: Resident Evil Village at 9.80 million
- 7: Resident Evil 5 at 9.10 million
- 8: Resident Evil 6 at 9.10 million
- 9: Resident Evil 3 Remake at 8.70 million
- 10: Devil May Cry 5 at 8.10 million
- 11: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak at 7.70 million
- 12: Street Fighter V at 7.50 million
- 13: Resident Evil 4 Remake at 7.00 million
We loved the Resident Evil 4 remake, giving it a 9.0 back at launch stating:
“As someone who very much prefers the more horror-focused entries in the Resident Evil franchise, this remake does a lot to address the problems I had with the original game. The well-crafted campaign, awesome additions, and unmistakable love for the original release all result in one of the best remakes in recent memory. Well deserved. I didn’t think there was a point to remake 4… I was so wrong. It is soooooo good.
Well deserved indeed, a great remake which wasn’t an easy feat for Capcom but they pulled it off and then some. The recent Gold Edition re-release is an amazing overall package well worth the price, Seperate Ways is the best RE expansion by far and worth playing for everyone who liked the main game IMO.
Hopefully RE5 is the next RE engine remake because I need my RE co-op fix!

The original 4 is my in my top 10 games of all time. I still havnt played this one but I will soon
