Insider Gaming and The Verge have both been covering the possible release date with Insider Gaming now flatly stating that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25th

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 releasing October 25th

In articles both The Verge and Insider Gaming have been going back and forth on new information about the next Call of Duty title. Insider Gaming has stated it will be called Call of Duty: Gulf War while Tom Warren of The Verge had stated it would be targeting a late October release date. In a new piece today Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has given a straight up release date for the title, October 25th, 2024.

Insider Gaming has reported previously that the next title in the Call of Duty franchise will be titled Black Ops: Gulf War and that it is set to be showcased in June. There have been five previous titles in the Black Ops Series. The first four were named 1-4 with Black Ops: Cold War breaking the naming convention after developer Treyarch had to take over another studio’s title.

Recent Call of Duty launches have included Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile which we stated:

“Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is a solid free shooter. But as a mobile game? It’s great. A lack of solid shooters with controller support help its case, but the available content alongside connections to the console game, the availability of settings and control customisations, full party support with voice chat and crossplay between iOS and Android devices—Warzone Mobile is a small miracle on these mobile platforms.”

When is Black Ops 6 coming out?

That was a mobile offering that seems to be doing well enough, similar to the critically panned Modern Warfare 3 which launched on consoles and PC last year. For that one we stated:

“At this point, I can only hope that, under Microsoft management, Activision will reorganize its Call of Duty cycle a bit and avoid releasing such painfully rushed and disappointing entries in the future – especially considering the last time they shipped a polished, feature-complete Call of Duty day one without enormous cuts in some areas dates back to 2017, six whole games ago.”

  1. Sooooo Avowed November then? Or will it be ready of September? Shattered space also september?

    XBOX HAS TOO MANY GAMES!

  2. It is heavily end of year though, wish they could space it out a bit better to give the games time to breath and could maybe help out with Gamepass subs

  3. Maybe such dense release period will get some people to sub?

  4. It’s another banner year for games (not just Xbox) for sure. Avowed, Shattered Space, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and maybe even Dragon Age Dreadwolf!

  5. The way I see it is maybe if it’s spaced out by the time people (not all of course) want to unsubscribe, something new comes out to keep them on the service. It stops people from subbing just to go through content super quickly and then stopping their subscription.

  6. That’s exactly the point. You want PC players to say hmmm I’ll drop 10 to try COD. Some of them get the bug and keep the sub. Then, just about a month later, you can drop avowed, that keeps some of the rest subbed for a month. Then when it comes time to unsubscribe again, Indy is coming out! MS 100% has data that says people who subscribe for X amount of months are likely to stay subbed for good, and stacking releases helps make that happen.

  7. Bro, I’m subbed for life!
