Microsoft’s Q3 Quarterly Earnings Report has just hit and Xbox has earned a potential record amount of revenue.
Industry Analyst Domsplaying on Twitter has noted the following statistics:
For FY 2024’s 3rd quarter:
- Gaming Revenue is up 51%
- 55% of that is from Activision
- Xbox Content & Services is up 62%
- 61% of that is from Activision
- Xbox Hardware down 31%
- Guidance was that “it would decline”
In their earnings call we had some more information and statements given.
The first of which was from CEO Satya Nadella:
“We are committed to meeting players where they are by bringing great games to more people on more devices. We set third quarter records for game streaming hours, console usage, and monthly active devices.”
“Finally, we’re expanding our games to new platforms, bringing four of our fan favorites to Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation for the first time. In fact, earlier this month we had 7 games among the top 25 on the PlayStation Store, more than any other publisher.”
We also have some projections for the upcoming quarter, Q4 April to June
- Total gaming revenue growth in the low to mid 40s with 50 points of impact from ABK
- Xbox services and growth in the high 50s with 60 points of impact from ABK
- Hardware revenue will decline again
Back in January the gaming division had overtaken Windows for the first time in company history. In that quarter the gaming division was up by 61%, thanks gain in large part to its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard-King. Xbox Hardware had been up 3% in Q2 and is down a seemingly large 31%, though this number is in-line with what Xbox suspected. In Q3 windows is back ahead of Xbox, earning 5.9+ billion compared to Xbox’s 5.4+ billion.
So much focus is on console sales, but in these numbers, we see just how much growth Xbox has found after it purchased Activision Blizzard & King. The call is still going so we’ll update this piece of any salient news is added during the investor’s call portion of this Microsoft Quarterly Earnings Report.

Good software and service numbers and that is without any big hitter like last year in Q1.
Where’s my guide? I was promised this site to be my guide.
hardware was better than guidance
lol
Microsoft gaming is poised to dominate the industry, let’s hope they retain the generosity of GamePass and first party day 1 drops when they take the majority market share !

They really fallen off this year huh.
Yet again, console sales are down and will continue to go down by next quartely revenue, not onky by what was mentioned but because of the move to port games over to playstation and nintendo. Great idea Satya and Phil, that will make sure many come to Xbox console hardware next generation.
Sometimes i question their inteligence and the way the talk to their costumers. Cause as a console user you really start to hate these guys and the reason is clear, they do not give any regard to anything related to hardware.
Wish their were people who did, but we are stuck with two people who clearly disregard it by miles.
