Open World Multiplayer Survival ‘Smalland: Survive the Wilds’ Launches “April Crafting Update”

Small-scale Building

This week, developer Merge Games and publisher Maximum Entertainment have announced that their open-world multiplayer survival game ‘Smalland: Survive the Wild’ has gotten its April Crafting Update, available across all platforms.

Available from the 22nd across PC, PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series consoles, the latest update overhauls the crafting system as we know it, as well as introducing several community requested features and mechanics:

  • Local storage based crafting – Crafting stations can now use items from nearby storage containers. The radius for this effect is shown when placing or inspecting both chests and crafting stations.
  • Improved build menu UI – With extra tabs to quickly filter through the Buildable and Cosmetic menus.
  • A new type of scalable building block with 3 shapes – There are variants for each building material: Twig, Wood, Stone, and Metal.
  • Time based crafting – Crafting certain items can now take time.
  • Fuel requirements for some crafting recipes – Various resources can be used to fuel crafting stations. These are indicated with a fuel icon.
  • New crafting station visuals and VFX – Crafting stations now have visuals to show when they are in use or not.

Landclaim totem – A placeable item which stakes claim to a square plot of land outside of tree-bases. Building and interaction with items inside of the range is limited to the owner. The space can be made public for building, interaction, or both by the owner.

Various fixes and improvements.

Traverse lake sized puddles and mountainous trees as you battle against the landscape and elements themselves. Tame and ride monstrous creatures from grasshoppers to geckos in a bid to survive in a harsh and wild world. Play solo or with up to 9 friends, with dedicated server support, emotes and more.
