‘Minecraft’ Celebrates 15 Years—Save Up to 70% Across All Minecraft Games, Free Items in Bedrock Shop

15 Years?!

This week developer Mojang kicked off Minecraft’s 15 Year Anniversary celebrations. From the bones of Infiniminer to its own full-fledged sandbox creative slash survival adventure title, there’s lots more to look forward to in this worldwide phenomenon of a game.

As part of the celebrations, the developer is also running a sale on all Minecraft games. Minecraft Bedrock & Java, Legends, and Dungeons are all 50% off across all platforms while the mobile games on iOS and Android (based on Bedrock) are 70% off. That’s right, you can pick up a full-fat copy of Minecraft on mobile devices for less than that nasty cup of “coffee” you’re going to pick up from Starbucks this afternoon. The mobile versions are the same game as the console versions, meaning not only is your experience the same as someone playing on an Xbox, but you get to crossplay with them, too! (Free online to boot.)

Don’t forget that the games are also available on Game Pass for PC and Xbox.

The company is also giving away free items in the Bedrock shoppe. For the next 15 days, head on over to the Minecraft Bedrock version to pick up an assortment of items to customise your Minecraft avatar. The gift-giving started the other day, but not to fret—you can grab previously given gifts, no sweat.

With that outta the way, we’re not too far away long-awaited 1.21 update. Slated for mid-2024, players can expect to see The Crafter, trial chambers, and much much more. I’m personally looking forward to the new hostile mob: The Breeze, which moves by jumping and shoots projectiles of wind energy that explode on impact, like how Blazes shoot fireballs. If it collides with a player or entity, it explodes immediately. This will be a touch one to take out!
