Today was a pretty big day for Xbox. They casually acquired Activision-Blizzard for close to 70 billion dollars, and also happened to give an update on the subscriber count for their fast growing Game Pass subscription service. Nestled in their announcement of the Activision-Blizzard deal, Microsoft announced that Game Pass has “more than 25 million subscribers.”
The last official number for the service was around 18 million last year, meaning Xbox’s Netflix-like subscription had promising growth in 2021.
It is no secret that Xbox’s ace in the hole is Game Pass, and with the help of more than 30 studios creating content, the service should grow exponentially over the next few years.
