Today Jeff Strain, the founder of Undead Labs, has revealed a new video game studio called Possibility Space. It’s a new game development studio based in New Orleans, but will allow employees to work from home. Possibility Space is not a Microsoft owned studio, which means Jeff Strain is starting this development team himself.
Strain created Undead Labs, the Xbox Game Studio responsible for the State of Decay franchise. Strain has previously worked on titles such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars.
The move is interesting, because Microsoft has previously partnered with Jeff Strain for the Unity Game Lab, where aspiring game developers could work on projects in a summer camp type of setting. This was named the Xbox Game Studios Game Camp New Orleans.
Possibility Space has already reported on some prominent hires for the the team, with the most notable being Austin Walker who has previously worked at Giant Bomb and Waypoint/Vice Gaming. He’ll be the IP director for the New Orleans team. The new studio is said to be working on a triple A title.
