As of today The Coalition has added four new characters to Gears 5. The new characters are General RAAM, Warden, DeeBee and COG Gear. With General RAAM being the most famous one who was absent in the initial line-up.
General RAAM, the Warden and the DeeBee’s will be available in Arcade and have their own unique abilities and playstyles. The COG Gear character can also be played in PvE modes such as Horde and Escape.

Earning and unlocking the new characters
You can either purchase the new characters, or earn them with the new Totem system. This means you’ll be able to have the same set of characters without spending any real life money.
According to The Coalition it will take around 10 hours to earn a character. You can unlock the new characters by completing challenges. Each character has a different challenge you’ll need to complete.
