  • Urquhart reiterates his desire, saying “I would love to make another Fallout before I retire.”

Obsidian has a lot of games in development, but that isn’t stopping studio head Feragus Urquhart from being asked if he and the studio are going to make another Fallout game.

In an interview with gamepressure, Urquhart is asked as a last question if there’s anything going on at Obsidian involving Fallout. He responds, saying “We’re not working on it right now, our plate is pretty full with Avowed, Grounded and Outer Worlds 2. I don’t know when we’re going to start talking about new games, maybe towards the end of [2023]. We just have to see what’s going on. That’s the best way to say it. There’s nothing in the plans, nothing on the piece of paper that says that. But I’ll stick to what I said. I would love to make another Fallout before I retire.”

Ever since Microsoft acquired Bethesda back in 2020, there’s been the question surrounding Obsidian and Fallout, and we don’t expect it to stop being asked until it eventually does or does not happen. Reliable insider and Grubbsmas co-host Jeff Grubb has even shared that plans for an Obsidian led Fallout game are in “very early” talks at Xbox.

It is abundantly clear that a new Fallout game from Obsidian is something that is on the minds of the people who could make it happen. The only question that remains is if the stars will align. We will just have to wait and see if these discussions ever amount to anything real.
