Xbox Head Phil Spencer once again reiterates that Call of Duty will continue to release on Playstation

It is another day that ends with Y and that means Xbox boss Phil Spencer is once again reiterating that Call of Duty will continue to release on Playstation. In an interview with Nilay Patel on The Verge’s Decoder podcast, Phil Spencer was asked about the Activision-Blizzard deal as well as what that meant for Call of Duty.

In one response, Spencer says “There’s nothing hidden. We want to continue to ship Call of Duty on PlayStation without any kind of weird ‘aha I figured out the gotcha’ as Phil said ‘our intent.’ I understand some people’s concerns on this, and I’m just trying to be as clear as I can be.”

Phil goes on to say multiple times throughout the podcast that there won’t be any tricks pulled and that this deal isn’t to cut the legs off of future PlayStation consoles. The rest of the interview is fascinating as well as Spencer discusses his new role as Xbox CEO, what the future of Xbox on mobile is, why gaming subscriptions are not comparable to music and movies and more.
