Today Microsoft have announced their first gaming event of 2021. It’s probably not what most people are expecting. From February 23rd to February 24th Microsoft is hosting the AI & Gaming Research Summit. It’s a virtual summit focused on topics such as artificial intelligence, research on player behaviour and responsible gaming. Speakers include developers from Roblox, Blizzard Entertainment, various Universities and Microsoft themselves. Among the speakers is Phil Spencer, the Executive Vice President of gaming at Microsoft.

A few weeks from now a digital GDC (Game Developer Conference) will be held too. You can expect topics like the ones listed above to be part of that conference too, among many other development trends.
