This morning it was brought to my attention that there has been a ratings classification for a game project in australia called “project 2021A”. A virtual reality media experience by Id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. you can view the rating here
The Rating of the game is R18+ for strong impact themes, high impact violence and mild impact language. the classification came on the 22nd of January 2021. The applicant is still Zenimax Australia Pty Ltd while the merger with Microsoft is still ongoing.
Things to note with this application is that it follows a similar chart of thematic recommendations of Doom Eternal with no nudity, profanity or sexual content warnings. As to when an official launch date or trailer is announced, we are still guessing but a bet around summer for a fall release is a good one as that has been Bethesda’s MO in the past with surprise projects.
Could we be suiting up as the Doom Slayer one more time? We will have to wait to find out.
