Todd Howard originally pitched an Indiana Jones game to George Lucas in 2009

Machine Games, best known for the Wolfenstein series, is hard at work on an Indiana Jones game. Todd Howard, you know who he is, is the Executive Producer on the game. Not much else is known about it, but apparently the idea for a Bethesda-Indiana Jones partnership has been in Howard’s mind for a while.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Howard revealed that he actually pitched an idea for an Indiana Jones game more than a decade ago. “I think I originally pitched [to George] Lucas in 2009 and I’ve been trying to find a way to make that [since]. And I think the work Machine Games have done, they’re just phenomenal developers and storytellers. And when I started talking to them about it, it was a good fit.”

Licensed games are tricky to pull off. But as we’ve seen recently with a game like Insomniac’s Spiderman, when it is executed well, it can be a massive hit. Machine Games has the talent and pedigree to leave most doubts behind that this game will be anything other than a success.
