Inside Xbox @ Gamescom

Gamescom fast approaches and team Xbox, whilst not holding a conference as such, will be on hand with a special Gamescom edition of Inside Xbox ahead of the the Gamescom Opening Night Live show, hosted by everyone’s favourite doritos pope, The Game Award’s Geoff Keighly.

As usual, I wouldn’t expect too much out of the Xbox team – this is NOT E3. The big ticket item of course is Gears 5, you can certainly expect to see the big reveal of Horde mode, and I would expect some campaign teasers of sorts later in the evening.

I’m also hoping to see more from Minecraft Dungeons, Halo PC updates, and maybe something more concrete on Age of Empires IV.

I would also expect Gamepass to add even more titles to the service, those crazy bastards.

There are a number of publishers on board for this event – Activision, Bungie, EA, Capcom, Epic, 2K, Sony, Ubisoft and more, so I would set your excitement levels to a healthy “mildly interested” – there’ll be quite a few trailers and reveals to enjoy (a new Need for Speed anyone?)

This is where I would expect a little more on the Gears 5 campaign, following a somewhat lacklustre showing at E3.

This article will be updated on the day with all the livestream links for your viewing pleasure, so be sure to check back in.

Stuck on this god-forsaken island. Father of two, wishes he could play more games but real life always gets in the way. Prefers shorter and often smarter experiences, but Halo is King.
