A sequel to Fallout New Vegas is being discussed amongst Xbox and Obsidian, according to Jeff Grubb

A sequel to the beloved Fallout game by Obsidian Entertainment is in early talks, according to industry insider Jeff Grubb. On his GrubbSnax show, and sourced by VGC, Grubb says “This is very early, but people have begun to have talks and say these words in sentences, and these words are ‘Obsidian’ and ‘New Vegas 2’”. He adds “A lot of people at Microsoft think that this could work and there’s a lot of interest to make it happen.”

These are still early discussions according to Grubb, and currently there is no guarantee that anything will come to fruition. The studio is currently juggling a number of projects, and determining which team within Obsidian would handle the project is impossible at the moment.

When Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft in late 2020, the possibility of a sequel to Obsidian’s beloved Fallout entry was theorized. A year and a half later, these discussions seem to be happening within Xbox, which is very exciting news for fans of the series.
