Rare – the creators of Sea of Thieves – has shared a press release and short video thanking players for their ongoing support. The creative director at Sea of Thieves, Mike Chapman also shared that June 2021 was a record-breaking month for Sea of Thieves. Over 4.8 million players have played during that month.
This spike in player engagement is the result of Season 3, which included the A Pirate’s Life update for Sea of Thieves. With this update, Rare has brought Disney on board for the multiplayer adventure game. A Sea of Thieves and Pirates of the Carribbean cross-over which included Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones and many other characters from the Disney show and themepark ride made an appearance in the game.
