Conquer the infamous and long-awaited Monte Grappa now on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The paid Expedition Units Pack is now also available — players can further spruce up the appearance of the German troops.
Fight for Monte Grappa!Isonzo Grappa Expansion Press Release
During the First World War, the Italians set up a last line of defense on the Monte Grappa in a final attempt to stop the German and Austro-Hungarian armies from reaching Venice and thus controlling critical parts of the country. Isonzo’s free Grappa update reconstructs this confrontation, giving players the opportunity to experience history and perhaps even change its course as they make their way through cratered landscapes littered with trenches.
In order to reach the mighty peak, however, German soldiers must first tread through the forests in the valleys of the Massiccio del Grappa. The Italian army will fight tooth and nail to stop them on their path to conquer Monte Tomba, Castel Cesil, Monte Palon and finally Cima Della Mandria. These mountains were all crucial in the struggle for Monte Grappa, and thus of utmost importance when it came to either defending or capturing them.
With the Grappa update, all sides of the war gain access to additional weapons to bring with them to the battlefield. The unique-looking Dreyse M1908 can now be equipped by German soldiers, and the Austro-Hungarians can arm themselves with the massive Gasser M1870. The Italian army has received The Revolver Orbea Hermanos – Tettoni 1916 to use while they attempt to defend their territory.
Together with the free Grappa map, the new Expedition Units Pack is now also available and includes a variety of novel customisation options for German troops. This DLC pack adds a total of 12 uniforms, 24 headgear items, 2 facial items, 7 facial hair items and 3 faces to Isonzo. These items are purely cosmetic and do not affect the gameplay in any way.
Creative Director and founder of BlackMill Games Jos Hoebe says: “With the release of the Grappa map, we have fulfilled the first part of our roadmap. We are both honored and excited to see that so many players keep returning to Isonzo! Of course we aren’t done just yet, and we’re looking forward to working on more free content to complete the story of the Italian front, including a new special game mode that we will reveal more about soon.”
The historical multiplayer WW1 Game Series seeks to bring the Great War closer than ever before, and the Caporetto expansion introduces players to a major part of the German involvement on the Italian Front. All new maps are based on careful research to reflect the challenges faced by soldiers on both sides of the conflict, with period maps and photography combined with writer memoirs and modern histories.
