Inflation now hitting your favourite hobby. IGN reports Microsoft is planning to increase the price of first-party titles to 70 dollars. This includes upcoming titles such as Starfield, Redfall and Forza Motorsport.
To IGN, the company states: ”This price reflects the content, scale, and technical complexity of these titles” which doesn’t come as a surprise, as games have become more complex in the past years. Of course Microsoft’s first-party titles such as Starfield and Forza Motorsport are still joining Xbox Game Pass on the day of release. Microsoft hasn’t commented to IGN about raising the price on hardware or subscriptions. This means it’s unclear if Microsoft is willing to increase the price of Xbox Game Pass or the Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Microsoft isn’t the first gaming company to increase pricing for blockbuster video games. Previously Ubisoft and Sony – among others -have increased the price of their games to a 70 dollar price point.
