Ninja Theory are no strangers to using every technique possible to create the most immersive and cinematic games on the market. Today, they shared a new technique they use to replicate “Anamorphic cinema” in game that is typically found in film.

This technique gives Hellblade II a “painterly, dreamlike look”. Ninja Theory explain how they combine Distortion, Chromatic Aberration, Spherical Aberration, and Bokeh to create this effect.
Ninja Theory continues to impress with each update and makes the wait for Hellblade II increasingly difficult. The game was the very first Xbox first party game announced for the Xbox Series consoles, so we are hoping to see a release date soon for this highly anticipated game.
