The multiplayer portion of the game developed by Smilegate Entertainment is completely free-to-play and can be downloaded at no cost. There are also two single-player campaigns created with the help of Remedy Entertainment. Operation Catalyst is available as part of your Xbox Game Pass subscription whilst the second story Operation Spectre is part of the paid version of the game. The Crossfire series has enjoyed monumental success in China and South Korea achieving a lifetime player count of 1 billion players in 80 countries worldwide.
