Austinites, rejoice! In a surprise announcement, the forthcoming Halo television series will be premiering 10 days early at the SXSW Film Festival, with a screening on March 14th of the first episode. It will take place (fittingly) at the Paramount theatre at 4pm CST and will run for 56 minutes. Reactions can be expected shortly after.
Interestingly, the official website lists Hungary as the country of origin for the show, which may indicate the show is an international co-production. Guests for the screening are unknown, but director Otto Bathurst and star Pablo Schreiber seem like safe bets.
For those outside of Austin, the Halo series is set to debut March 24th on Paramount+. Reactions to the trailers for the show have been mixed, but hope remains that this video game adaptation will remain on the right side of history.
