Microsoft Flight Simulator’s World Update 6 has been delayed to September 7

Previously scheduled for August 24, the sixth World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been delayed to September 7.

Focused on Germany, Austria and Switzerland, this free update will feature many enhancements to the region, including new aerials and elevation maps, new photogrammetry cities, 4 hand-crafted airports, nearly 100 POIs and new discovery flights, landing challenges, and bush trips.

According to the developers, this 2-week delay was necessary to ensure the update “reaches a very high level of quality”.

This is the sixth free World Update to be released for the game since its launch a year ago. The other updates include enhancements for Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom + Ireland, France + Benelux and the Nordics.

Out of the 4 hand-crafted airports to be added on this update, we already know about three of them: EDHL Lübeck Airport in Germany, LOWK Klagenfurt Airport in Austria and LSZR St. Gallen–Altenrhein Airport in Switzerland.

As far as new Points of Interest go, Germany’s Holstentor, Elbphilharmonie, Castle Marienburg, Deutsches Eck, Castle Katz, Lorelei, St. Bartholomä and Allianz Arena are confirmed, as well as the Swiss National Museum, Grossmünster, Tarasp Castle, Chapel Bridge and the Lausanne Cathedral in Switzerland.
