The long rumored Xbox and Kojima deal is continuing to progress and has reached a key milestone according to industry insider Jeff Grubb.
In an article on venturebeat.com, Grubb says that “Hideo Kojima and Microsoft have signed a letter of intent that states the two parties intend to work out the details on a publishing agreement for a new Xbox game, according to sources familiar with the matter. This is a key step in the negotiations between the Metal Gear Solid creator and the Xbox company”.

Kojima is best known for making the fan favorite Metal Gear Solid series and the intriguing Playstation console exclusive Death Stranding. It isn’t clear what Kojima will be making with Xbox, assuming the deal goes through, but Grubb has suggested it has something to do with the cloud.
Grubb explains what the Microsoft-Kojima partnership intends to accomplish, saying “the point of the partnership is to unlock the creativity of Kojima Productions using Microsoft’s technology as opposed to greenlighting a specific pitch.”.
If and when this game ever does reveal itself to the public, it will draw a lot of eyeballs. Kojima games, love them or hate them, are objects of fascination. If Xbox is truly trying to unlock Kojima’s creativity, then Xbox fans may be in for a very… interesting game.
