Spiritfarer’s first major free update is now available for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.
The Lily Update introduces Lily the Butterfly Spirit, a new character set to guide the player through several scenes which add depth and detail to the main character Stella’s story. Additionally, the update brings improvements to the local co-op play and various bug fixes.
The Lily Update is the first of three major free updates that Spiritfarer’s developer Thunder Lotus has planned for this year, bringing new spirits, boat buildings, collectibles, recipes and events to the game.

Thunder Lotus also announced that Spiritfarer has reached a new milestone today: 500,000 copies sold worldwide, becoming the developer’s most successful project to date.
Spiritfarer was originally released on August 18, 2020 for the Xbox One and joined the Game Pass catalogue on day one. It was extremely well-received, scoring a respectable 9 in our review at the time.
