There’s a strong possibility that Kojima’s next game might be on Xbox. According to Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat, “Kojima is in talks with Microsoft about publishing his next game”. This has yet to be confirmed or finalized, but Grubb goes on to say that “Kojima is the focus of a Microsoft plan to leverage Japanese talent”.
It’s fair to say the potential of adding a game from Kojima would be significant for the Xbox brand.. While Kojima’s last game, Death Stranding, was certainly a game that divided opinion, he is one of the most revered creators in the industry with a worldwide brand.
Xbox have a long documented struggle to make inroads in worldwide markets outside of the United States and UK. If Microsoft is able to come to terms with Kojima, it would be another positive step for their gaming division who’s been on a hot streak of good news lately.
