Over 20 million people have played Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves turns 3 today. In march 2018 the game was the first first party title to launch on Xbox Game Pass and since then over 20 million people have played the game. This means 10 million new players have played the game in the past 14 months.

To celebrate this milestone and the third anniversary of this multiplayer pirate adventure, Rare has prepared some festivities. Players who sign in between today and March 25th will receive the Prosperous Captain’s Sails and Xbox Game Pass members will receive the Jump for Joy emote on top of that. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will receive the Ocean Crawler Bundle via the Perks, which can be claimed from today to June 18th.

The game itself is also on sale. Between March 18th and March 21st the game is 50% off on the Microsoft Store.

Next month Season Two of Sea of Thieves will launch and it seems like the image Xbox Wire has chosen for their blogpost is a small hint. So, there’s something to look forward to the coming weeks!
