‘DEATHSMILES I・II’ Comes to Xbox One in 2021

Publisher City Connection and developer CAVE Interactive have announced ‘DEATHSMILES I・II’ for Xbox, coming in 2021 to Japan. This collection will feature both DEATHSMILES games, of which were available on the Xbox 360 back in its heyday.

CAVE Interactive has a lot of great shoot ’em up games and in my opinion, DEATHSMILES is a really good one. The first DEATHSMILES came out in 2007 in arcades but later came to Xbox 360 in 2009 (launching in 2010 for North America) and ports to later devices followed. DEATHSMILES II followed thereafter, though I was never able to get ahold of that game myself. It is really cool to see these games come to more platforms and hopefully more of CAVE’s games follow.

At this point in time there is no western release confirmed but I imagine that will be announced sometime soon. If all else fails, however, you can still purchase this collection on Xbox just by changing your console’s region, thanks to the support of region-free titles on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
