The Twitter account Cheap Ass gamer has discovered a new program called Digital Direct. Starting with the Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X console bundle, Microsoft will stop adding physical codes for digital games in their bundles. From now on, when doing the initial setup for the game people will receive the game on their account.
While this move adds convenience when setting up a console – people who buy a new console won’t have to add their Xbox Game Pass code, instead the code will already be included in the system – it also removes the possibility to sell the codes. This means bundles will lose some value.
