Minecraft has sold 200 million copies and has 126 million monthly active players

Today The Verge reported on Minecraft sales numbers. The game has now officially sold more than 200 million units. The game is being played by 126 million players monthly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, last month the game saw a 25 percent increase in new players.

Mojang was acquired by Microsoft back in 2014 for 2.5 billion dollars. Back then, the game had sold just over 50 million copies.

In addition, Zhuge reported the game has over 300 million registered players in China. The game is free to play in China.
