Riot’s Valorant could come to Xbox – focus is on PC right now

In a recent interview the game director of Valorant, Joe Ziegler, has said there is a possibility their new shooter could come to consoles. But, at the moment the team at Riot is focused on the PC version of the game. The chances of Valorant coming to mobile are bigger than a console port at this moment though. Touch controls were already found when datamining the program. And recently Riot Games has announced more games coming to mobile, including League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.

Riot is not entirely out of the console business though, as League of Legends: Wild Rift is set to come to consoles soon.

Meanwhile, their new game Valorant has become one of the most anticipated games of 2020. The shooter with hero elements, often called a mix of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch, has set records on Twitch with millions of viewers. It is to be seen if and when Valorant will come to consoles.

In related news, Riot has also purchased the company behind Hytale, called Hypixel. Hytale is a game made by a team of Minecraft modders. The trailer for this game has accumulated over 50 million views. It could well be a big competitor for Minecraft in the future.
