Age of Empires 2 hit a new player record this weekend – More than 34 thousand concurrent players

While we knew Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is a big game, not many people expected the game to maintain – and grow – its userbase like it did. Last November, the remaster of the classic game was released. It didn’t replace the 2013 release Age of Empires HD. But it seems both games have a very healthy playerbase as of now.

The new studio World’s Edge and the developer of Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition, Forgotten Empires, must be very pleased with the results.

Information from Steam Charts

Meanwhile, the 2013 version of the game is also in constantly in the top 100 most played games on Steam. Achieving to attract over 25 thousand concurrent players this weekend.
