Microsoft Game Stack is pulling out of GDC due to Corona Virus – they’re doing a stream instead

As with many public events across the globe, the game developers conference (GDC) has seen plenty of withdrawing partners this year. Today, the Microsoft Game Stack team has revealed that they won’t be coming to the conference due to the Corona virus.

They’ve sent out the following tweet:

After MWC was cancelled and PAX East saw a lot of participants drop out, GDC is the third major tech conference to feel the effects of the global outbreak of the Corona virus.

Microsoft has now opted to stream the content they’d be showing and talking about on a digital only event. This will be held from March 16th to March 18th on a special website. It will feature the majority of the planned game developer sessions and experiences, Microsoft says.

Earlier today, Unity has announced not attending GDC.
