I know, Halo 5? Everyone’s talking about Halo: Master Chief Collection, what on earth am I writing about Halo 5 for?
Well, the sustain team at 343 Industries have added a pretty unique playlist for those of us that yearn for an older play-style. As per 343:
Mythic Arena is a hybrid between new and old Halo experiences, evoking memories of the past while maintaining a modern feel in a fun and competitive setting. By partnering closely with the community, we were able to build out six new maps and five Mythic variants of beloved game modes for this playlist: Assault, Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Oddball, and Slayer. As a result, we’ve created a fully-fledged new ranked experience for Halo 5 players to enjoy.
Unyshek – 343 Industries
With adjustments to movement speed, melee damage and weapon timers, the whole idea is to evoke memories of an older style of Halo.
In addition, all the maps have been created with help from Halo’s dedicated community of Forgers, and they’ve created some classic “old-school” feel maps. Check out the trailer below:
