Minecraft has over 112 million players monthly

Minecraft is a global phenomenon. Everyone knows that, but did you know it’s still growing?

Per BusinessInsider.com, “the game now has over 112 million players every month… That represents a jump of over over 20 million players since the last time Microsoft announced as much, back in October 2018 – an absolutely massive increase in players, considering the game has been available for over 10 years.”

112 million players monthly is an incredible number. The game is a decade old and it continues to attract news players and innovate.

When Microsoft acquired Mojang a few years back for 2.5 billion dollars, many wondered if it would be a waste of money. Minecraft had already been out for a while, and it was a fair question to ask if the property had peaked.

Helen Chiang, Minecraft Studio Head, noted that “What we find is that it’s a game that players keep coming back to… It may not always be the one that’s in the forefront, because there are a lot of great games that continue to come out, but it’s one that they love to return to.”

Minecraft has been in our lives for a decade, and it doesn’t even seem to have reached its peak. It’s quite possibly the biggest game of all time, and it looks like it will be here for a long time.
