Aerosoft already planning expansions for Microsoft Flight Simulator

The German company specialized in simulator expansions, Aerosoft, has revealed that they’re already working on third party support for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Third party support has only been hinted at by the team building this new simulator game, but it seems Aerosoft already knows more. Aerosoft is in contact with Microsoft to produce planes, airports and more. German website Gamewirtschaft.de has interviewed the director of Aerosoft.

The German company has been around for almost 30 years building simulation games and additions to simulation games. The company is located on an actual airport – Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport – and producing content for flight simulators seems to be in their DNA.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Aerosoft is planning to bring realistic models of airports, airplanes, scenarios and flight routes to the game as Microsoft will probably release the game with only a basic set of these features. The company behind games like Omnibus Simulator is already analyzing Microsoft Flight Simulator to see where they can add the most value.

Aerosoft creates around 30 to 35 add-ons every year.

Microsoft will reveal more information on things like third party support, weather systems and more in September.
