Age of Empires 4 confirmed for X019

Today Aaron Greenberg has confirmed to a German channel that more information on Age of Empires 4 will be announced at Microsoft’s fan event X019, which will be held in London this year.

According to Greenberg we can expect the information to arrive on November 14th. The fourth installment in this legendary strategy game series was announced at Gamescom 2017, but we hadn’t heard anything about the game since. We know it’s being developed by Relic Entertainment in Vancouver, Canada. Recently, Microsoft has also created a brand new studio for the strategy genre currently still named ‘Age of Empires’ – but a different name is coming – which will produce and oversee the development of games in the series. Aaron Greenberg confirmed the appearance of Age 4 at X019 during a ‘Monsters and Explosions’ stream.

Asked when we’ll hear more about Age of Empires 4, Greenberg responded:

”Listen, our next big beat is X019. I’d suggest that people watch that. It’s also on November 14th. It’s the day Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition launches.”
