With Banjo-Kazooie’s arrival on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate the floodgates are seemingly open according to Chris Seavor, the creator of Conker. In a short interview with VGC the former Rare employee and current indie game developer at the small gaming company Gory Detail has now said that the arrival of Rare IP on Nintendo’s platform is ”inevitable” as he thinks the fans demands will win in the end.
“You only have to look at the reaction to Banjo’s appearing in Smash to see that this was purely a fan driven thing, and fans are if nothing else a noisy and belligerent bunch. I mean, it’s an abbreviation of ‘Fanatic’ after all. Whether they’ll be as loud about the other IP’s including Conker is up for debate… I’d say not likely.

According to Seavor it is just a matter of time before we’ll see more crossovers between Nintendo and Microsoft in regards to Rare IP. He notes: ”Donkey Kong in Sea of Thieves next? Why not?”
It’s clear that Seavor isn’t a big fan of Rare’s acquisition back in the day. When thinking about all the games Rare could have made for Nintendo’s systems if Microsoft hadn’t bought the Twycross based development studio he says: ”Best not to think on it too much, it’s depressing.”
Seavor’s latest game Rusty Pup has recently been released on iOS.
