New gameplay footage of The Outer Worlds shows more polish and a decent amount of depth

The Outer Worlds is Obsidian Entertainment’s new RPG in the vain of Fallout New Vegas. And everything about it shows who’s making it and what they’ve made before. The gameplay shows us The Outer Worlds wants to be Fallout, but also wants to try new things. Like.. a more polished experience.

There’s a lot of gameplay footage out there to find, this piece of footage from Polygon, without commentary, shows a living and vibrant world with uniquely designed alien creatures. The gunplay isn’t as refined as games like Destiny or Halo, but it seems to do the job just fine. The visuals look absolutely incredible for a small project like this. The worlds seem vast and explorable and the colors pop. You can see the 40 minute video down below:

You’ll be able to kill any NPC you like in the game, which must have been a hell to write for the creators. The Outer Worlds is a multiplatform title published by Take Two’s Private Division. It’s coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. And this week the publisher also announced a Nintendo Switch version.

As Obsidian Entertainment is now part of Xbox Game Studios, players on Windows 10 and Xbox One will be able to enjoy the game on Xbox Game Pass on the day it launches.
