At X018 in Mexico City we saw the announcement of The Good Life for Xbox Game Pass. This Kickstarter game by Hidetake ‘Swery’ Suehiro, known for games like D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die and Deadly Premonition, is an RPG about cats.

In a blogpost on the Kickstarter page the team announced the game has now been delayed till spring 2020. Intrigued? We’ve summarized the game below.
In this RPG you are in a town where residents turn into cats. The mystery of townsfolk changing into cats is the central plot of the game, but there is much more to it. Swery describes the game as a ‘debt repayment daily life RPG’ where you play as Naomi, a New Yorker who moves into a town located in Britain called Rainy Woods. She’s a journalist and moved to this small town to be able to pay off her massive debt.
The town is known to be the happiest town in the world, but after a while Naomi will notice some inhabitants are not your regular neighbors. In this game you will solve mysteries and will even appreciate the horror and charm of Rainy Woods.
Today Swery announced the game has been delayed to spring 2020. In the video above you can see that many improvements have already been made during the development process. On the Kickstarter page Swery writes that this is a ”heavy decision, but we made it believing that it’s the happiest decision for all the people who are going to eventually play it.” The team, also consisting of Yukio Futatsugi, creator of Panzer Dragoon and Phantdom Dust, has made this decision to deliver the game as polished as possible.
The Good Life will launch day one on Game Pass.
