
In an interview with Fortune Magazine the head of gaming at Microsoft, Phil Spencer, talked about xCloud, their relationship with Sony and the gaming business overall. It’s a 40 minute interview.
During the interview Phil Spencer mentions that the Xbox division is profitable. He also mentions that they see it as a growth business. They are not trying to maximize profits, but are investing to maximize the growth.
In the interview he also talks about putting xCloud, their game streaming service, in the hands of developers first and foremost. They will focus on going where the developers are. This means it will be likely xCloud will be coming to the UK, Japan and the west coast of US first.
Other subjects in the interview are the new first party studios, their stance on industry growth and the acquisition of Minecraft.
